It's great to welcome you to Queen Margaret Univesrity, Edinburgh.
The Students' Union is here to enhance YOUR student experienence and to provide you with support and a safe social environment.
We are really excited about Freshers' Week 2008. This will be the first Freshers to be hosted in our new Students' Union building and we have put together a cracking list of events for you to enjoy.
It is often said about Freshers' Weeks that "there is something for everyone", well this year that is actually very true, with evening events ranging from an International night with Iranain DJs and a Brazilian band to a Silent Disco and day events ranging from a day at Musselburgh Race Course to a beach BBQ, we really have tried to cater for all.
Check out the Freshers Gallery for photos from all the events

Please note: All Freshers' Events in the Union are strictly for first yrs (and direct entrants & new postgraduates) only. We have a limited capacity, so to ensure as many first yrs as possible get to enjoy their Freshers' Week, we have had to impose this rule. Fret not other years! All of our students are welcome to attend:
During Freshers' Week students cannot sign guests into the Union. This will go back to the normal policy after Freshers.
'Trade Union' at Cab Vol on Monday, The Ball at The Jam House on Tuesday, 'World in Union' at Mood on Wednesday and The Royal Mile Pub Crawl on Sunday.
This rule will only be for Freshers Week, as from Monday 22nd September all of our students are welcome to attend all events!
Any questions? Show me an email and I will try and sort you out. kbouchier-hayes@qmu.ac.uk
Accessability to venues - The Students' Union is accessible for disabled students. Mood Night Club and the Jam House are also accessible for disabled students. Unfortunately Cabaret Volitare is not wheelchair accessible.
If you have any concerns about accessibility during Freshers' Week, please contact the Advice, Support & Equalities Officer, Connie Blackbourn at asofficer@qmu.ac.uk
